Short Film - Sun is Shining

Using hand-drawn animation in Procreate, I created this film during my time at Otis College of Art and Design (2020–2024). I experienced the profound loss of three of my grandparents. These were incredibly difficult moments that I continue to navigate today. Art became my refuge—a way to process my grief and honor the immense impact they had on my life, both personally and creatively. Drawing on our shared love of music, I found comfort in the idea of “finding them within the music,” a reminder that they are never truly gone. They live on through my memories and the beauty of the moments we shared.

These are the first steps to the film: blocking out the shots, figuring out which audio to use, and, more importantly, how those shots aligned to ensure the message of the film was coming across.
